Positives

Jason Statham's comic timing is excellent and he leaves a lasting impression on the minds of the viewers. Melissa McCarthy and Jude Law do well in their parts. The direction complements the well written script to keep the audience interested in the plot till the end. But the dialogues could have been better written. Despite being a comedy movie, the action sequences are incredibly well done.

Negatives

Too much fat comedy. Too many "f" words and vulgarity in the second half of the film. It seems as though the film was made in a hurry to make quick money without due attention to the dialogues. The same situations can easily be made better with good dialogues instead of vulgarity.

Bottom Line

Spy is a nice 2 hour entertainer if you don’t mind a few fat jokes. Jason Statham is surprisingly hilarious. You will definitely recall his moments in the movie after you leave the theater. Melissa McCarthy, better remembered as “Molly”, is a natural actress and does her fits right into her character in the movie. To sum up, there is nothing extraordinary in Spy, but it is worth a watch.
