Review

Fall is a 2022 survival thriller film directed by Scott Mann and starring Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner. The film follows two best friends, Becky (Currey) and Hunter (Gardner), who decide to climb a 2,000-foot-tall, abandoned tower. However, when the ladder breaks, they find themselves stranded at the top, with no way to get down.

The film is a simple but effective thriller, relying on its suspenseful premise and strong performances from Currey and Gardner to keep audiences engaged. The film’s cinematography is also impressive, with stunning shots of the abandoned tower and the surrounding landscape.

One of the things that makes Fall so effective is its sense of realism. The film does a great job of conveying the feeling of claustrophobia and vertigo that Becky and Hunter experience as they are trapped on the tower. The film also features some genuinely harrowing moments, such as when Becky and Hunter have to make a difficult decision about how to get down.

Of course, no film is perfect, and Fall is no exception. Some critics have criticized the film’s predictable plot and its lack of character development. However, I believe that these criticisms are outweighed by the film’s strengths. Fall is a well-made and suspenseful thriller that is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Cast

  • Grace Caroline Currey as Becky Connor
  • Virginia Gardner as Shiloh Hunter
  • Mason Gooding as Dan Connor
  • Jeffrey Dean Morgan as James Conner

Currey and Gardner give strong performances as Becky and Hunter, respectively. Currey is particularly good at conveying the character’s determination and resilience. Gooding and Morgan also provide solid support in their roles as Becky’s husband and father.

Overall, the cast of Fall does a good job of bringing the film’s characters to life. The performances are believable and engaging, and the actors have good chemistry with each other.

Story

Fall (2022) is a survival thriller film about two best friends, Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), who climb a 2,000-foot-tall, abandoned tower in the desert. However, when the ladder breaks, they find themselves stranded at the top, with no way to get down.

The film opens with Becky, Hunter, and Becky’s husband Dan (Mason Gooding) climbing a mountain. Dan loses his footing and falls to his death, leaving Becky devastated.

One year later, Becky is still struggling to cope with Dan’s death. She has become an alcoholic shut-in and has estranged herself from her father, James (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Hunter visits Becky and invites her to climb the B-67 TV Tower, a decommissioned 2,000-foot-tall tower in the desert. Hunter tells Becky that she can scatter Dan’s ashes from the top as a form of healing.

Becky is hesitant at first, but she eventually agrees to go. She and Hunter drive to the desert and begin their climb.

The climb is difficult, but Becky and Hunter eventually reach the top. They scatter Dan’s ashes and take in the view.

However, as they are preparing to descend, the ladder breaks. Becky and Hunter are now stranded at the top of the tower, with no way to get down.

At first, Becky and Hunter try to stay calm. They try to signal for help, but no one can see them. They also try to find a way to climb down the tower, but it is too high and too dangerous.

As the days go by, Becky and Hunter start to lose hope. They start to run out of food and water, and they are becoming exhausted. They also start to hallucinate and have nightmares.

Becky and Hunter eventually realize that they have to do something drastic if they want to survive. They decide to try to climb down the tower using a makeshift rope made from their backpacks and clothes.

The descent is extremely dangerous, and what happens next has to be watched.

Fall is a suspenseful and thrilling film that explores themes of survival, friendship, and grief. The film is well-acted and well-directed, and it features some stunning cinematography.

I highly recommend Fall to fans of survival thrillers and films with strong female leads.
